As we celebrate the 21st anniversary of our marketing agency, it's an opportunity to reflect on the incredible journey we've had since our founding in 2003.

Over the past two decades, we've witnessed and adapted to significant changes in the world of marketing – this is something we testament to our success. From the rise of social media to the evolution of Google algorithms and the growth of SEO, our agency has grown, evolved, and thrived in an industry defined by constant change.

The Early Days

When we began in 2003, the digital marketing landscape was vastly different from what it is today. The internet was still in its infancy, Web 2.0 was on the cusp of rollout, and marketing was more about traditional media—print ads, radio, and television commercials. However, we recognised the potential of digital platforms early on, set ourselves up ahead of the curve, and began to focus on creating online marketing strategies, initially with a focus and drive on website development.

In those early days, search engines were becoming increasingly important, but supporting services were less accepted by up-and-coming businesses. Our team recognised the power of being found online and began to explore ways to optimise websites for better search engine rankings, and get ourselves trained and ready for the inevitable demand in the coming years.

The noughties was a time of experimentation and learning, as we navigated the complexities of early search engine algorithms, which were far simpler than today’s ever-changing standards.

 

Navigating Technological Changes

As the years progressed, technology rapidly advanced, bringing with it new opportunities and challenges to put our minds to. The mid-2000s saw the rise of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, completely shifting how businesses could engage with their audiences.

We were early adopters, helping our clients take the power of these platforms to build communities, share content, and drive brand awareness.

Around the same time, Google’s algorithms began to evolve rapidly, becoming more sophisticated with each update. From the introduction of Google’s PageRank system to the Panda and Penguin updates, our team was always on the forefront of change, adapting our strategies to ensure our clients’ websites remained visible and competitive. SEO became a core service offering, as we invested in tools, training, and talent to stay ahead of expectations.

 

Embracing Data

As we moved into the 2010s, the marketing industry saw a shift towards data-driven strategies. The ability to track and analyse user behaviour within tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console online opened up new possibilities for targeting desired audiences via websites. We embraced integrating data analytics into our campaigns, allowing us to provide more personalised and effective marketing solutions.

 

Our Commitment to Community

While innovation and growth have been central to our success, we hugely recognise that our local community and all those within it, play a huge role in our ongoing success. Giving back has always been a priority for us, so we are doing something extra special to celebrate this milestone.

Over the years, we have supported various charitable organisations through donations, volunteering, and events. As decided by our team, this year were are donating to MIND UK, hoping to play a part in supporting the work that they do.
